Cyclops Smart Intersection Management System with Camera, is a real time traffic control system that is based on computer vision solutions and uses a single fisheye camera. Overlooking the entire intersection, the system can collect variety of required data such as vehicle entry and exit directions, number of vehicles passing, classification of vehicles and average speed. Then the system processes data and controls the intersection in real time.
Cyclops Smart Intersection Management System with Camera not only regulates the green durations at intersection legs in an adaptive manner, but also manages the total cycle duration in real time. Smart Intersection Management System with Camera is a full adaptive solution that constantly optimizes the traffic control in real time. With this approach, Smart Intersection Management System with Camera ensures enormous benefits to economy via decreased fuel consumption; to public health via decreased greenhouse gases emission; to psychology and productivity of the community via decreased time spent in the traffic.

Software for Editing of Virtual Loops
On the user interface, Cyclops shows usage of the regions via impulsively changing transparency of the regions when a vehicle is detected. Vehicle detection is performed at these virtual loops. A user friendly editing software is used to draw, edit and apply these virtual loops. The symbolization of the virtual loops include red loops, which are used to detect entries to the intersection; blue loops, which are used to detect exits from the intersection and yellow loops, which are used to detect vehicle queues. Computer vision unit then reveals the information in real time, using these virtual loops. User interface software enables more than 50 polygonal regions to be drawn and edited. Installation of this software and editing of the regions is done by our company. However, if requested, a training will be available to the users to enable them using the software.
Analyse Software
Analyse software generates datas for smart intersection control.
Triggers on Intersection Entering Lanes
The yellow regions shown in picture (left) are utilized to generate triggers before entering the intersection. A yellow region should be drawn for each lane. Hence, the duration of signal lights corresponding directions such as turning left, turning right and going straight ahead can be controlled independently and intelligently. Moreover, the occupancy percentage can be estimated for each lane. This provides information about the entrance requests of vehicles from each lane. The occupancy percentages and the triggers in the yellow regions are used for ITS.
Triggers inside Intersection
Inside intersection, there are two types of regions; red and blue regions as shown in picture(right). Red and blue regions are utilized to generate statistical data during vehicle entering to and exiting from intersection. Red regions should be drawn for each lane. On the contrary, blue regions can be drawn for departures (exit) of each road. Starting from red regions vehicles are tracked inside the intersection until reaching the blue regions. Thus, we can calculate how many vehicles are inside the intersection at this time and define which routes they follow. Moreover, congestions within the intersections can be also detected. In addition, triggers can be generated before entering to and exiting from the intersection or crossing predefined regions on the intersection. All these information not only used in intersection management but also stored for disclosing various statistical data (traffic flow densities for each route, variation of signal periods, distribution of vehicles according to their classes etc.) that can be benefitted in designing master traffic plans.
Reporting Software
Reporting software is a module that exhibits the data provided by the analysis software understandably and in a variety of digital formats. Thanks to vehicle tracking feature of the system, a variety of transportation research data is disclosed, including vehicle counting, intersection leg based counting and trip based counting.

- Traffic flow counting report
- Traffic origin-destination matrix table report
- Queue accumulation report
- Density distribution report
- 4 vehicle class classification report
- Average speed report
